Research
The Commons Library publishes politically impartial policy analysis and statistical research, free for all to read on this site.
The House of Commons Library is a research and information service based in the UK Parliament. Our impartial analysis, statistical research and resources help MPs and their staff scrutinise legislation, develop policy, and support constituents.
We publish politically impartial research. Our publications come in a variety of formats to suit different information needs – from topical articles and in-depth briefings to interactive data dashboards and a podcast. Our published material is available to everyone on this site.
To ensure MPs and their staff can make the most of the information they need, we provide a huge range of books, journals and databases and organise regular inductions, training and events.
We also answer information requests and conduct bespoke analysis for MPs and their staff. Visit our services page to find out more.
