Farm funding from the government is available through the Environmental Land Management (ELM) schemes and grants supporting areas such as innovation, technology and animal welfare.
Fly-tipping rose 9% from 2023/24 to 2024/25. The government is proposing various measures to reduce the problem.
The government published its national security assessment on Global biodiversity loss, ecosystem collapse and national security in January 2026. A debate on the assessment, introduced by Adrian Ramsay, is due to take place in Westminster Hall on 3 September 2026.
